What is your Sustainability Policy

Sustainability Policy:

The Kemble Gallery & Art Shop is committed to becoming more eco friendly and cutting down on the amount of plastic & waste materials. We are looking into ways to replace plastic or unsustainable materials where possible, whilst not compromising on sufficient packaging for breakable & fragile items.

Bags:

All of our shopping our bags are now paper bags, which are sourced from an independent wholesaler who use sustainable materials.

Parcel Packaging:

We are mindful of how we use packing materials for our online orders. We want our parcels to look nice inside & out for our customers but we also want to reduce waste, therefore we re-use cardboard packaging & bubble wrap where possible.

Parcel Tape:

We have replaced plastic tape with paper gummed tape to make it easier for our customers to recycle or even better to re-use our packaging.

Tissue Paper:

We use sustainably sourced, acid free tissue paper.

Bubble Wrap:

We are in the process of replacing bubble wrap with a more sustainable alternative, which gives the same amount of protection during transit.

Artists Products:

Our artists are also working on how to reduce the amount of plastic & waste they use. However, many prints & cards are still packaged in plastic sleeves to protect them from damage. Some artist’s are using biodegradable packaging or have decided to use zero / minimal packaging.

Artist Product Delivery Packaging:

Any packing materials we receive in our deliveries is re-used in some way. We receive our artist product deliveries in cardboard boxes, which we re-use to pack our orders. Often, large sheets of paper are packaged in clear plastic bags, which we also re-use where possible.

Any Suggestions?

We are looking into alternative packaging materials that don’t cost the Earth, literally!

Contact Us:

If you have any eco friendly packaging idea, we’d love to hear from you!
