GLASS – by baking in the oven at 160°C for 45 minutes then spraying with clear varnish.

CERAMICS – by baking at 160°C for 45 minutes, then spraying with clear varnish.

PAPER/CARDBOARD - No special fixative is needed for POSCA on paper. However, to optimise conservation over time, you can apply a water-based spray varnish.

PLASTIC - Once your creation is finished and dry, apply two coats of water-based spray varnish.

METALS - Once your creation is finished and dry, we recommend applying two or three coats of water-based spray finishing varnish, especially for outdoor use.

MINERALS (stones/pebbles) - Mineral materials are naturally porous & will absorb paint, so several coats may be necessary. Apply two coats of water-based spray varnish to fix.

CANVAS - No special fixative is needed for POSCA on canvas, but if you want to optimise conservation over time, you can apply a water-based spray varnish.

Note: Wait for paint to dry before varnishing. Apply varnish by holding the can about 30 cm from the surface and spray in slow circular movements. The varnish can be matte, satin or gloss depending on the look you want. We have Winsor & Newton aersol varnish in all three finishes in our shop.
